Bene Grazie!

ENKCA’s latest fund raising event, an Italian meal for 80, held in Kirriemuir Old Parish Church hall was a tremendous success and a great credit to Gill Elder who organised and delivered the event, ably and calmly assembling and directing a large team of very willing and able assistants with the confidence and aplomb of a professional caterer.

The meal was generously sponsored by local businesses and great thanks are due to all who donated food and accessories for the table, prizes for the raffle and for a generous donation to cover the rent of the hall.
Thanks go to Angus Organics for beef, Jim and Linda Breckenridge for supplying and preparing carrots, Messrs Bruce for strawberries, The Cheesery for parmesan, Forfar Fruit ‘n’ Veg Stall for onions, Graham’s Dairies for Milk, Granny, Lizzie and Pat for espresso truffles and tablet, Milton Haugh Farm Shop for vegetables, Myreside Organics for salad leaves, the Really Garlicky Co for garlic and ciabatta, Saddlers Bakery and Spar for bread, Norma’s Homemade for dipping oils and raffle prizes, Robertson’s Dairy for cream, Scotherbs for fresh herbs, Springer’s Deli for olives and dried herbs, Les Turrif Ltd for vine tomatoes, Vissochi’s for ice cream, Castleton House for a meal for two, The Park Tavern for high tea for two and a breakfast set, Caruso for a meal voucher, the Co-op for a £50 shopping voucher, Aldi for a £30 shopping voucher, Tesco for a £10 shopping voucher, Hi – Fli Banners for flags, The Tasting Rooms for a bottle of Italian wine, Nickel ‘n’ Dime for candles, Best Wishes for balloons.

Alison Orr was the lucky winner of ‘Heads and Tails’ and will be heading to Castleton House for dinner a deux.

Everyone present, guests and staff enjoyed the evening for the food and the party atmosphere, and £1,434 – at the latest count – was raised to boost the fund to build a new hall for the Eassie, Nevay and Kirkinch community at Balkeerie.

Bene Grazie!
