ENKCA was pleased to welcome the Kirriemuir group from Contact the Elderly to its second afternoon tea on Sunday 10th August. Contact the Elderly is a national organisation that recruits volunteer drivers who take a group of isolated and lonely elderly people out for afternoon tea one Sunday per month. Usually they visit a volunteer host's home but this month the Kirriemuir group was invited to Eassie & Nevay Hall for their tea. Two drivers brought five ladies from Kirriemuir and they thoroughly enjoyed their time in the hall. A couple of the ladies met people they knew in the past and enjoyed catching up on their news. They commented on how welcome they were made by the ENKCA team and how much they had enjoyed the afternoon.
Hosts and drivers are always needed for the Forfar and Kirriemuir groups. If you can offer to provide a tea one Sunday per year or can drive one Sunday per month please contact Debra Ritchie (01307 840596) who can give you a bit more information.
