Afternoon teas in August

The afternoon teas held at the hall each Sunday in August were a great success with over 200 teas served during the month and many customers keen to return next year. The hall buzzed with people chatting; several meeting friends they hadn't seen for a while. It was so busy that on the final Sunday teas were held in the large hall to accommodate the many visitors who wanted to come. Friends and neighbours from within and outside the community supported the event and we are grateful for their continuing and loyal support. A total of £977 was raised for hall funds

A lovely selection of sandwiches and home baking was available and huge thanks go to Margaret Durston, Mary Marshall and Isabel Christie for making mounds of meringues, scones and shortbread for each Sunday. Thanks also go to Fiona Brown and Marianne Jenkins who made the pancakes freshly at the hall each afternoon. Without the help of many other people including Jane Brewster, Ann Thorpe, Jinda Nelson and Dylan, Jennifer Duncan, Sylvia Fleming, Sheila Stewart, Debra Ritchie, Linda Breckenridge, Chloe Breckenridge, Margaret Mowatt, Louise and Beth this would not have been possible.

If you enjoyed the friendly welcome and home baking come along to our coffee morning on Friday 4th October 10am - noon in aid of the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance. Entry is by donation and you are guaranteed a warm welcome.
