A warm welcome was extended to more than 80 visitors who
dropped into the hall for afternoon tea on one of the Saturdays in August,
including some who were so impressed they came back on subsequent Saturdays. A selection of sandwiches, scones, pancakes,
meringues, shortbread and strawberry tarts were served with a choice of teas
and coffee. There was also an opportunity to buy from the sales tables which
included home-made jams, cakes, bread and home grown berries. The atmosphere in
the café was lively with chatter and people enjoying their afternoon tea. It
was gratifying to have a number of people attending who hadn’t been to the hall before and who were
impressed with the facilities we have on offer. Many thanks to all who visited
the café and to those who baked and helped to prepare and serve the food each
day. An approximate sum of £565 was
raised for ENKCA funds.
For those who enjoyed or missed out on the delicious
afternoon teas there is another chance to sample Eassie Hall hospitality at the
McMillan Coffee Morning in Friday 28th September. Be part of the
World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of McMillan Cancer Relief and help our
community support this worthy cause.
